Vajra Diaries: Raw Feed 3 (Warning: for Highest Yoga Tantra Recipients Only!)

22/11 Last night I had such physical distress and mental duress I thought I might die. Every arising thought, unless it was a vision of the yidam bestowing nectar or the consecrating deities pouring soothing bodhicitta from a vase, was poison and halted my breathing. Heart, lung, and digestive systems were malfunctioning. It seems from doing mantras and the four consecration practice that had yielded breakthrough yogic results, a bubble of scalding air and vibrating energy had been trapped at first at my throat, freeze-burning it like I’d eaten very cold ice cream. Then it began to slowly move with the downward clearing air. As my stomach was bloated from arrested digestion, I was desperate to speed up the downward clearing air and be physically empty. Not too long before, there’d been Great Bliss from upward moving airs while doing mantras and visualizations, yielding visions of deities and the proffering of vats to all of the purest bodhicitta. The ball of discomfort moved from my th...

Vajra Comment: Is it Better to have ‘Vowed’ and Fouled Than Never Vowed at All? (Monastic vs Laity)

When, as a young person, a most excellent and auspicious opportunity to take monastic vows arose, I balked. Even though it was under the auspices of the then senior Sakya scholar-monk, the Encyclopedic Deshung Rinpoche, Kunga Tenpay Nyima, and His Holiness the present Sakya Gongma Trichen, one of the greatest Sakya Trizins of a millennium long lineage. This too, even after it had rightly been said by His Holiness’s sister, Jetsunma, that I had ‘monk’s mind.’  In truth, I mostly declined because I thought I knew myself, at twenty-seven, well enough to say, ‘Who are you kidding? You could never keep all those vows. Especially celibacy.’ I was certainly not alone in thinking this. At that time, the mid-to-late 70’s, during the Sakya’s germinal development in North America, many New York Dharma students embraced the Nyingma school precisely because their vowed lamas could take mates or consorts, known as khandros. Now I’m more inclined to think taking on monastic discipline, even with ...

Vajra Diaries: Who’s Afraid of AI and Why? plus Twilight Lunar Verse

12/11   Is it time to switch over? Time to let the drudge work be done completely for us? If labor is the fulfillment of mankind, its path true peace and prosperity, why should we then let it be done by someone or some ‘thing’ else? Is that something else AI? More simply put, is it really, as Sundar Pachai of Google suggests, our profoundest—thereby most ‘rewarding’— technology?  Humans desire to know and express all information. It does as they say want to be free. One reason is because information is power. Omniscience equals omnipotents. Is this the wheelhouse of AI, the so-called ‘artificial’ intelligence, capable of processing pages and pages of information, at lightening speeds, for whatever one’s heart desires? On a more collective level, as in the wealth and power of nations, it trains other models of itself, now internationally, as Google goes to Britain planning to boost their status to the number three (behind America and China or China and America) super com...

Vajra Diaries: Just Hang Up and the 84,000 Vajra Teats

26/10  At any given time, one can choose the Negative image (imago), or the Positive one. News apps/social media, etc.—all monetizing instruments—largely propound an aggrieved or self-confidence challenging Negative. These days, it’s to the extent that becoming ‘unworldly’ is quite easy. Just put down your phone. To further enhance that spirituality, become mindful of your body and its posture, what you’re feeling, the empty nature of your mind, and all arising phenomena. Rinse with confession of all your negative deeds, especially in the last twenty-four hours, purify with the Hundred Syllable Vajrasattva mantra, and repeat this regimen the next time your phone ‘calls’ you. Pursuant to the above, one’s afflictions must be consciously reviewed and dispelled through steeled faith in a positive result. In truth, all negative behavior must be ‘willed away.’ “Cut off at their closest point,” as Kalu Rinpoche urged.  Keep in mind afflictions are both established and unestablished b...

Vajra Diaries: Raw Feed 2

22/9 In regard to Trump’s comment America is the hottest country now: Hot, as in ‘Some Like It Hot,’ as in running from the mob/fascists/gestapos, only to be saved at sea by another 🤡, a queer Joey Brown. 👏👏👏 However, as Billy Wilder warned, “The optimists ended up in ovens and the pessimists in swimming pools…” 27/9 freetibetorg and 5 others Follow BREAKING: Yesterday [25/09/25], Tibet activists and members of the @TibetanCommunityBritain, staged a powerful protest at the opening of Cai Guo-Qiang's "Gunpowder and Abstraction" exhibition outside the White Cube Gallery, London. While his work is celebrated in London, in Tibet he desecrated sacred land - detonating thousands of Likes fireworks on a mountain at over 5,000m, near revered Himalayan peaks. This act severely harmed fragile wildlife and ecosystems, in one of the planet's most sensitive regions, without the L =143 consent of the Tibetan people who have protected these lands for millenniums. Followed by tib...
